چکیده

Background Patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (CMP) often develop regional wall motion abnormalities (WMA) due to myocardial scarring, stunning or hibernation. Abnormal functioning myocardial segments without evidence of fibrosis on late gadolinium-enhancement cardiac magnetic resonance (LGE-CMR) are felt to represent stunned or hibernating myocardium, presumably with significant coronary artery disease (CAD) in the vessel supplying the region. We analyzed the association between segmental wall motion abnormalities (WMA) and underlying CAD in ischemic CMP.

Relationship between Late Gadolinium Enhancement Extent in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Old Myocardial Infarction

Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...

Gated myocardial perfusion SPECT in patients with left bundle block but having low probability of coronary artery disease; as compared to the patients with normal electrocardiogram

Introduction: We aimed to investigate of effect of left bundle branch block (LBBB) on perfusion and functional parameters in dipyridamole Tc99m-MIBI gated myocardial perfusion SPECT which may be helpful in interpretation of myocardial perfusion imaging. Methods: We studied 70 patients with low pre-test probability of coronary artery disease in two groups:  35 patients with LBBB and  35 subject...

Delayed hyperenhancement in a case of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) consists of an acute onset of transient akinesia of various parts of the left ventricle (apex and mid in classical TTC, mid and base in the variant form), without significant coronary artery stenosis, often accompanied by chest pain, dynamic reversible ST-T segment abnormalities and elevation of cardiac enzymes disproportionate to the extent of akinesia. Contrast-...

Relationship between the extent of non-viable myocardium and regional left ventricular function in chronic ischemic heart disease.

PURPOSE To define the relationship between left ventricular (LV) regional contractile function and the extent of myocardial scar in patients with chronic ischemic heart disease and multi-vessel coronary artery disease. METHODS Twenty-three patients with chronic ischemic heart disease and 5 healthy volunteers underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In patients, the relative area (Percent S...
